I think the second I saw Kevin I realized he had a bit of talent in his skating at like ten or eleven. It was more than most of the little snots groming around, so I just went straight up to him and was like " whats your name? oh! forget them roll with me from now on." Kevin tried his best to listen, watch, observe, progress and on and on. He has takin his path and I'm very proud of him and where he has gone with his skating. it's a good look that he didn't get pioneered to hard, because I'm a tard and he has an open road in front of him...

Steve: So Kevin, where are you from, how’d you pick up skateboarding, and with whom did you skate with during those first few years?

Kevin: I’m originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I spent the first fifteen years of my life there. I lived in Florida for a bit, finishing up high school. Once I graduated, I moved back up north to Boston, MA where I reside today. During those first few years, I remember mostly skateboarding with my best friend Cory. He had a mini-ramp in his back yard. I didn’t even have a deck at the time so I had to borrow his until I eventually got my own. I was hooked ever since.

Steve: How did you end up in Boston, what made you stay, and do you plan on living anywhere else in the future?

Kevin: Well, I always used to skateboard in Boston when I lived on the Cape. I loved it so much I decided to move here. I’m going on three years now. I do think that I will eventually move out of Boston, but I’m not sure when or where. For right now it’s perfect for me but I think it could get rinsed out sooner or later.

Steve: Who do you skate for, who do you skate with, and who do you look up to within skateboarding?

Kevin: I skate for Blueprint Skateboards, Orchard Skateshop, Lakai shoes, Fast Life  Urethane, and Magical Go Go. Lately, I’ve been skating with Berms and Pelle the most. As far as the people that I look up to goes, it’s got to be the Blueprint boys, Paul Shier, Broderick Gumps, Lurker Lou Sarowski, Pat Stiener, and really anyone that’s having fun on their skateboard.

Steve: I recently spotted Dan Magee outside of Orchard during one of their many nighttime jammers. I couldn’t help but wonder why such a nice guy was hanging out with a bunch of skateboarding massholes. Care to elaborate?

Kevin: Nice guy, you think? Hah. Well, he came out here to film a little trip in Philadelphia with a few of the Blueprint guys. Initially he planned on staying for two weeks. Then, he extended on two separate occasions to film me in Boston for “Make friends with the Colour Blue.” Made himself pretty comfortable at my new apartment, hanging out with the crew and what not. I think over in England is a lot worse than here as far as Massholes go. Magee could tell you all about it. Anyways, he didn’t want to leave at the end of his one month stay in the states. Glad to have him!

Steve: What’s it like being the only American on the Blueprint squad, and do you feel any pressure because of that? I mean, do they ever bring up the whole Boston Tea Party thing?

Kevin: Nah, they haven’t brought the Tea Party up yet. It’s definitely different being the only American on the squad but I don’t necessarily feel pressured at all. I don’t see myself riding for anyone else. I think that I’ve become used to the fact that I ride for Blueprint. That’s what it is now and hopefully what it is going to be in the future. Blueprint has always felt like more of a family to me rather than a team.. I don’t want to give anything away but I don’t know if I’ll be the only American for much longer.

Steve: When will you guys be dropping the new video and is it true that you are going to have the first part? Last part?

Kevin: I think it’s supposed to drop in May of 2009. I’m not exactly sure where I stand in the video. I’m just trying to keep the ball rolling and see what happens.

Steve: And finally Kev, who would you like to thank?

Kevin: I’d like to thank my family, my Mom and Dad, Kim, Crystal and all my friends and sponsors that have helped me out all along. I’d like to thank Blueprint especially, Orchard Skateshop, B Gumps, Devoe, Matt Bagley, Dan Magee, Paul Shier, CN, Alex Pelletier, Lee Berman, Lurker Lou for Pioneering, and everyone else that’s helped me out. Big Thanks!
